Hi, I’m Rob.
I’m a full-time independent investor looking to buy, operate, and grow one great small business. I’m personally backed and fully committed to finding the right company to acquire and lead for the long term.
Before launching Elbert Street Capital, I spent nearly a decade as a Vice President at KPMG Corporate Finance, advising business owners on M&A, exits, and capital raises. I worked directly with small business owners, helping them evaluate strategic options, build detailed financial models, and navigate complex transactions, all while collaborating with investors, lenders, and executive teams. That experience sharpened my ability to understand financial structures, solve business challenges, and manage high-stakes negotiations.
Through both of these experiences, one theme has come up again and again: many small businesses lack financial clarity and are unprepared for a sale process. To fill that gap, and in addition to my ongoing search process, I now offer fractional strategic finance services by helping business owners build internal financial structure, improve data gathering and reporting, and make smarter decisions today while preparing for a future exit or capital raise.
Outside of work and chasing around my 2-year-old daughter, I’m a former college baseball player and continue to stay active by taking trips to Colorado for hiking and fly fishing.
